The British and Irish Lions tour of Australia has officially come to an end with the tourists taking the series 2-1.
Andy Farrell’s side were unable to keep their unbeaten run down under going in the final game, with the Wallabies taking the last Test in treacherous conditions.
Here are five URC stars that we think stood out on tour.
Tadhg Beirne – Munster Rugby
Beirne started all three Tests against Australia and was deservedly named Player of the Series. A nuisance over the ball, the Irishman also chipped in with a crucial try in the Second Test, bulldozing his way through three Wallabies in the process.
Hugo Keenan – Leinster Rugby
The Lion king himself. Scored the winning try in the final minute of the second Test to snatch the series. Makes playing fullback look easy. All this after falling ill early on tour and losing 5kgs.
Huw Jones – Glasgow Warriors
Kept his place for the second Test after Garry Ringrose pulled out with concussion. A constant threat in attack, he scored a crucial try in the second Test to get the Lions back into the game.
Jac Morgan – Ospreys
The only Welshman on tour for much of it after Tomas Williams was forced home with injury. Didn’t make the squad for the first Test but was on the bench for the remaining too and made a real impact. Stunning throughout the warm-up games.
Dan Sheehan – Leinster
Arguably the best hooker in the world right now, the Leinster star seems to be going from strength to strength. Got himself on the scoresheet in the first and second Test and was a constant threat.
