Head-to-Head: Who will come out on top between Justin Tipuric and Hamish Watson?
5 min read • 11 Mar 2020

There may just be one Guinness Six Nations match taking place this weekend, but even if all three games had been going ahead on Super Saturday, few match-ups would have been more tantalising than the battle of the opensides. Wales have had their fair share of great No.7s over the last two decades, and Ospreys’ Justin Tipuric has been in the form of his life in 2020, even in a team that has now lost three in a row. His two tries helped him to be named Player of the Round in Round 4, despite finishing on the losing side, edging out the man he will go up against this weekend. Edinburgh’s Hamish Watson is one of the strongest players in the game, pound-for-pound, and has shown just how influential he can be at the breakdown over the past few weeks.
