**It was another absorbing day of Guinness Six Nations action with many Guinness PRO14 stars coming to the fore.** Ireland made it two wins from two in this year’s Championship with a bonus-point 24-14 victory over Wales at the Aviva Stadium. Scotland then came up short for the second week running as England reclaimed the Calcutta Cup with a 13-6 triumph at a sodden BT Murrayfield. We pick out four players that impressed in Round 2. **JORDAN LARMOUR (IRELAND)** With neither team giving an inch in the opening 20 minutes it needed a moment of magic to break the deadlock and Leinster’s Larmour provided that. There did not appear to be much on when Larmour collected Conor Murray’s pass. But the full-back produced a fine step inside, wrong-footing Nick Tompkins before brushing off the Wales centre. With try-line in his sights, there was no stopping Larmour as he slipped off a tackle from Tomos Williams and went over. Aside from a loose kick at the start of the second period, the wing continued to be a threat and rounded off his afternoon with an assist. Larmour did excellently to find Munster’s Andrew Conway who burst through for Ireland’s bonus-point try.

**ALUN WYN JONES (WALES)** The Ospreys lock will leave a sizeable hole when he calls time on his career as he produced another storming showing. After great defensive work saw him halt a maul in the early stages, Jones then showed his attacking flair on 27 minutes. Jones got through a gap before popping the ball out to Dan Biggar who sent Williams away for the visitors’ first try. It was a brilliant piece of skill by the 34-year-old, but he did not rest on his laurels as his next action was to bring down Lamour. The Ospreys stalwart made more tackles than any other player in the first half and continued to make his presence felt as he was used regularly on the gain line to carry the ball. **TADHG FURLONG (IRELAND)** In yesteryear a tighthead prop’s job was to scrummage. But as we have seen in the Guinness PRO14, Furlong adds a lot more than that. Furlong does not score many tries but grabbed his fifth in a green jersey eight minutes before the interval. After being part of a powerful scrum, which overpowered Wales, Furlong got straight back up and got his hands on the ball before charging over. Ireland put in a dogged display and the Leinster front-rower gave his all. He crucially stripped replacement scrum-half Gareth Davies of the ball as Wales searched for a way back into the game after Josh van der Flier’s 47th minute score. He was also part of a huge Irish shove on their own five-metre line to earn a penalty just as Wales pressed for a way back into the game on the hour. Furlong made one final, powerful carry before being replaced on 66 minutes with Ireland well on course for victory.

**ADAM HASTINGS (SCOTLAND)** With the rain pouring down in Edinburgh, Scotland and England played out a scrappy affair with Ellis Genge’s late try proving the difference. Hastings was unlucky to finish on the losing side. He plugged away and kicked well in tricky conditions as Scotland battled for territory. Right from the off, the Glasgow Warriors fly-half made Scotland’s intentions clear with a thumping tackle on Jonny May in the opening moments. Hastings was getting the upper hand on George Ford as he latched onto a loose ball before tackling the England stand-off at the start of the second half. The 23-year-old got Scotland back on level terms with a penalty on 46 minutes before dispatching another three-pointer late on to clinch a losing bonus point. He also finished the match without a number on his back as it was ripped off during a tireless showing.
