James Lowe vs Munster – Round Six

Wing James Lowe has been a sensation since signing for Leinster at the start of last season, scoring 21 tries in all competitions.

In this instance he proved the scourge of their old provincial rivals Munster – taking the game away from them just after half-time with an acrobatic finish.

Lowe pouched a looping pass from scrum-half Gibson-Park, which was behind his running line, yet managed to power through the 120kg of lock Jean Kleyn to finish.

His remarkable score saw him touch down while being near-horizontal and having to contort himself around the corner flag and the edge of the pitch to stay in play.

Adam Byrne vs Benetton – Round Seven

Another superb effort by a man on the wing for Leinster, this time Adam Byrne showing industry as well as skill to get the opening score against Benetton.

Gibson-Park was again involved as his kick off the back of a ruck just outside the 22 perfectly dissected the Italian club’s wing and full-back.

Byrne never left the five-metre channel as he grabbed the ball from around Benetton’s Jayden Hayward, who was approaching the ball at pace, before the Irishman’s momentum carried him over the line despite Monty Ioane’s best efforts.

Conor O’Brien vs Ulster – Round 13

Centre Conor O’Brien showed elusiveness and power on his way to a superb finish, in a more sustained showing of skill than some of the other efforts here.

He avoided five defenders as part of his break, including an inside step which left three reeling as he burst for the line.

O’Brien picked up a short pass from fly-half Ciaran Frawley in a seemingly innocuous position 30 metres out and the Ulster defensive line well set.

But he powered through two men on the gain line before showing his agility to evade the cover defenders and touch down.

James Lowe vs Munster – Semi-final

Lowe’s second entry into this list against the same opposition but this time there was much more at stake – a place in the Guinness PRO14 Grand Final.

His score would prove the icing on the cake for Leinster touching down almost exactly as the clock ticked into the red as it finished 24-9 this weekend.

Once again Lowe showed his supreme ability to finish a move despite a lack of space.

Out on the left wing the Kiwi showed his step and hand off to dispatch Munster full-back Mike Haley before getting away from the clutches of Chris Farrell to touch down in the corner.
