As much as we would like to believe otherwise, rugby now exists in a four-year cycle that builds to a crescendo at the World Cup. That is not to say that everything that comes in between is not important, but most projects and contracts are organised with the Webb Ellis Cup in mind. For that reason, 2019 was obviously the culmination of a lot of hard work, but 2020 is more interesting in many ways.
