Matthew Screech has long been a key cog in the Dragons wheel and the towering lock has driven his team throughout an encouraging 2019/20 campaign under Dean Ryan, culminating in him winning this year’s Ironman Award. Since joining the Newport-based side from Bedwas in the summer of 2013, Screech has continually improved, establishing himself in the first XV with an appetite for graft which will be even more prevalent now Cory Hill has departed to Cardiff Blues. Screech amassed an incredible 1,161 Guinness PRO14 minutes for the Welsh region this season, starting all 15 of his appearances and dotting down once against Blues on Boxing Day - the side that let the now 27-year-old go as a youngster.
