What sort of music gets played in changing room?

We usually just put on a top 100 playlists. You get your variety: pop, hip-hop, rock; there’s a big variety.

I used to be the DJ, until I got injured and I was demoted! I’m not too sure who the current DJ is, but I’ve got to earn it back!

We would do recommendations, understood that we couldn’t make everyone happy. Recommendations are always the best; you have to understand that there isn’t always going to be music that you like, but that we will play your music eventually.

Who has the worst taste in music?

Marnus van der Merwe has the worst music taste in the squad. He plays the worst stuff you can ever imagine. It’s so bad that I don’t even know what it is; it’s really intense! We would try and avoid getting his music on in the changing rooms as much as we can.

If you could see any band, past or present, who would you see?

I haven’t really been to a concert in the longest time, years, so I can’t actually remember who the last person I saw live was! But, if I could see any artist, past or present, live, it would be J Cole. I’ve listened to his music from his first albums, to Friday Night Lights etc, and I just want to know how he does it; how does he make his music so relatable. It feels like some songs he’s talking directly to you or about you. How does he get that right, to be so socially aware?
