With another round of enthralling Guinness PRO14 action in the bag, fantasy rugby players will be examining their teams closely as we near the business end of the season. In fact, Round 14 gave fantasy managers plenty to chew on as Glasgow Warriors edged out Ospreys at Scotstoun and defending champions Leinster got the better of Scarlets in Dunlin. Toyota Cheetahs and Zebre played out a thriller in Bloemfontein, with the hosts scoring nine tries in a 61-28 triumph, while there were also wins for Cardiff Blues, Munster and Isuzu Southern Kings. Ulster and Benetton also played out a 17-17 draw at Kingspan, where Ratuva Tavuyara delivered a man-of-the-match performance for the Italian visitors. The winger’s showing will have peaked the interest of many fantasy rugby players, racking up 14 points after scoring Benetton’s second try with a superb finish in the corner. His teammate Federico Ruzza was the other scorer for Benetton and picked up 13 fantasy points as a result to mark himself out as another player to watch out for going forward. Elsewhere, fantasy rugby players with Owen Lane in their side will feel very satisfied with themselves after he picked up 13 fantasy rugby points in Cardiff Blues’ win over Connacht. The Welsh region came out on top in a nervy encounter at Arms Park, holding off a late fightback from Connacht to seal victory with an 8-7 win in Cardiff. And it was Lane’s spectacular one-handed finish in the corner that ultimately proved the difference, dotting down to close the gap between the two sides to just two points in Conference A. Ulster’s Rob Herring also got in amongst the points, scoring a try for the Irish province against Benetton to earn 11 fantasy points for those who had him in their line-ups.
