**Instant Classics presented by [Guinness](https://www.guinness.com/en-us/)** **Connacht have a special affinity with BT Murrayfield, having won the 2015/16 Final against Leinster in the Scottish capital, and created more treasured memories at the venue with a terrific performance in Round 3 of this season’s Guinness PRO14.** Hosts Edinburgh, who had topped Conference B on their way to the Semi-Finals in 2019/20, went into October’s clash looking for their first win of the new campaign having limped out the blocks in the opening fortnight. Andy Friend’s visitors, meanwhile, were out to claim their second Scottish scalp in the space of three weeks having beaten Glasgow Warriors in Round 1 before slipping to defeat at Cardiff Blues the following week. The Final victory in 2016 was Connacht’s most recent triumph at BT Murrayfield, with two defeats on their visits since – including a 41-14 drubbing on what had been their most recent trip in February. They could have been forgiven, then, for fearing the worst when Edinburgh scrum-half Nic Groom ducked and dived over for the game’s opening score in the ninth minute to open up a 7-3 lead for the hosts following Conor Fitzgerald’s early penalty. It took just five minutes for Connacht to hit back in style through their own talented No.9 when Caolin Blade spotted a gap down the blindside and exploited it, side-footing a grubber kick into space and gleefully diving on the bouncing ball over the line for his side’s first try.
