Judgement Day returns for its seventh year at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium this weekend, with plenty at stake for each of the four Welsh regions in the Guinness PRO14. Besides wanting to sign off from the season’s conference action on a high, Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Scarlets all face a battle to finish at least fourth in their respective conferences as they chase a place in next year’s Champions Cup. Earmarked as the tie of the weekend, the Blues face Ospreys in a tussle for fourth place in Conference A, after the Dragons – playing for pride at this point – take on Scarlets who could still finish third if results go their way. Ahead of a day of crucial, mouth-watering action, we look at back at some of the highlights of each edition of Judgement Day since its inception in 2013. Judgement day I – 2013 The newly-formed event kicked off with a bang as Scarlets overcame Dragons 28-20 in the day’s early game. George North scored two tries, helping Scarlets on their way to a spot in the semi-finals despite a gutsy performance from the Dragons that denied them a bonus point try. Elsewhere, Ospreys claimed a tight, 23-16 win over Cardiff Blues, despite a stellar performance from Leigh Halfpenny. The Wales international scored all 16 points for the Blues, but tries from James King and Jonathan Spratt, along with 13 points from the boot of Dan Biggar, helped Ospreys to victory.
