Acting Head Coach Duncan Hodge has demanded another performance to make the Edinburgh faithful proud when they take on Zebre on Friday night.

Edinburgh are on a three-game winning streak after two successful outings in Europe and have lost only once to an Italian opponent in their last eight meetings.

That defeat did come against Friday night’s opponents Zebre however, a 19-11 loss in Parma in October 2015.

Hodge has made four changes to his starting XV with tighthead prop Felipe Arregui making his first Edinburgh start in place of the injured WP Nel.

Stuart McInally comes in for Ross Ford while Viliame Mata and John Hardie start in the back row with Hodge happy with the week’s preparation.

“The support last week at BT Murrayfield was outstanding and we can’t wait to get back out in front of our home fans and put in another performance they can be proud of,” he said.

“We’ve named a fairly settled squad for this week as we go back into Guinness PRO12 action and look to build on the three consecutive wins.

“We’ve had a good week of training as positivity and confidence continues to build but our focus remains on continuing to perform and gather momentum in the championship.”

Their opponents Zebre have made two changes to the side that lost to Connacht in the European Champions Cup with Giulio Bisegni replacing the injured Enrico Di Giuli.

Tommaso D’Apice starts at hooker with Oliviero Fabiani suspended with the Italians looking for their first win on the road since beating Worcester in the Challenge Cup in January.

Zebre have not won in eight previous visits to Scotland but completed a double training session in the Italian sun before flying to Scotland.
