Scotstoun will play host to the only battle between two winning sides from the opening weekend as Glasgow Warriors entertain the Ospreys. The game, which kicks off at 3.15pm will be the first game on home soil for new Glasgow coach Dave Rennie.

What’s at stake? The Warriors impressed as they battled to victory in difficult conditions away to Connacht, while Keelan Giles crossed twice to get the Ospreys up and running at the expense of Zebre. While both teams were strong defensively, this game will give them the chance express themselves on the artificial pitch at Scotstoun.

Team news (Glasgow Warriors): This encounter will see Callum Gibbins make his debut for Glasgow, following his move from the Hurricanes. Gibbins starts in the back row alongside skipper Ryan Wilson and man of the match in Connacht Adam Ashe. Finn Russell also comes into the side at fly-half with Peter Horne shifting out a spot.

Team news (Ospreys): Steve Tandy has made four changes to the team that beat Zebre, with Sam Davies coming into the side at fly-half. Kieron Fonotia also gets the nod to start at outside centre, while the other changes are in the pack, with Lloyd Ashley and James King both included from the start.

Talking points: Callum Gibbins was one of the marquee signings for Dave Rennie at Glasgow and he will get his first chance to show what he can do against the Ospreys. The last many European fans saw of him was in a Hurricanes jersey against the British & Irish Lions, when he scored a try in a 31-31 success. A relentless tackler, he will be a key man at openside.

Key Battle: Given Gibbins’ strengths, his match-up with Justin Tipuric should be particularly entertaining. Tipuric started at openside when the Lions and Hurricanes faced off, so for the second time in less than three months the two flankers will go head-to-head.

Key stat: The Warriors might have built their confidence with victory in Connacht, but they have won just one of their last five games against the Ospreys. The Welsh side’s last win away from home was also in Scotland, a success against Edinburgh in March.

Did you know? Glasgow full-back Ruaridh Jackson last played at Scotstoun in 2015 in a semi-final win over Munster. Following two years in England, he returned to the Warriors this summer.
