Jack Dixon is determined to right a few wrongs when Newport Gwent Dragons meet Benetton Treviso in their final match of this season’s RaboDirectPRO 12.

The last time the two sides met the Italians came out on top in a 45-27 victory.

This time however, Dixon believes his side have adapted and will be going into the fixture with a new plan of attack.

It has been a disappointing spell for the Dragons who are without a win in their last seven league fixtures since they beat Glasgow 24-23 at Rodney Parade on February 23.

But the omens are not good for the Welsh side who have won only one of their last five fixtures with Treviso – 23-14 at Rodney Parade in February 2013.

But Dixon wants his side to go out on a high and sees the match as an opportunity to showcase a different side of his game.

"Results haven't gone our way but hopefully we can finish off with a win against Treviso,” said Dixon.

“We had a disappointing result out there last month but we've changed out gameplan slightly and we are confident we can turn it around.

"This year I have been a bit more of a crash ball 12 but I like to think that I can throw the ball around a bit as well.

"I've been working hard on my distribution and my kicking game. I am keen to learn and develop my game.”

The 19-year-old has featured regularly for the Dragons this season and admits that he is already feeling like a veteran.

"It feels like I have been around for years! But I am still a youngster really and I'm always learning in training,” he added.

"Myself and Tyler (Morgan) can learn off Ashley Smith and Pat Leach. That will continue next season when Lee Byrne and Aled Brew come in, they know the game well and know what they are on about."

Fly-half Jason Tovey will make is 100^th start for Newport Gwent Dragons who have made one change after losing to Scarlets with Ducan Bell replacing Bruce Douglas.

Meanwhile, Alberto Sgarbi, Alberto Di Bernado, Fabio Semenzato and Christian Loamanu all come in for the Italians who will be looking for a strong end to their season.

Treviso need to finish the round having obtained more league points than Zebre to wrestle the Italian European qualification spot form their closest rivals.

Treviso have lost their last two matches, to Leinster and to Glasgow, while this is their last chance to win an away game this season.

However, Benetton's only victory in Wales since April 2012 came in round 22 last season at the Scarlets.
