Newport Gwent Dragons might have a crucial European semi-final on the horizon but lock Cory Hill insists they won’t be overlooking Leinster in Sunday’s GUINNESS PRO12 clash.

The Dragons travel to BT Murrayfield to take on Edinburgh next Friday as their European adventure rolls on but first welcome the Leinstermen to Rodney Parade.

Lyn Jones’ troops enter the match in good form, having won their last three matches in all competitions, and after seeing off Leinster at the RDS Arena in round 14, a victory would secure a first-ever GUINNESS PRO12 season double over their opponents.

But Hill is wary of the Irish side’s physicality ahead of the contest.

“Leinster have a very big pack and a good lineout and scrum,” explained Hill. “It will be a good test for us to see if we can nail them down and then rest up ready for Edinburgh.

“The boys will go out there like a normal week; we train hard and play hard. You don't go out there thinking about the next game, we will target Leinster and look to get the win.

“The club has been waiting for a long time to do well in a competition. To do well in Europe is great for the fans, the club and players.

“It's the business end of the season. Leinster is a massive game, so is Edinburgh. The boys are looking forward to it – we've got a big few weeks and just have to dig in and enjoy it.”

Jones makes three personnel changes to the starting XV that beat Cardiff Blues last weekend with centre Tyler Morgan, flanker Nic Cudd and No.8 Taulupe Faletau all returning.

For Leinster, Matt O’Connor rings the changes with 12 new faces from the line-up that started last weekend’s 18-15 win over Bath.

Only Jimmy Gopperth, Ben Te’o and Mike McCarthy retain their place as the likes of Marty Moore, Zane Kirchner and Gordon D’Arcy come in – the latter set to make his 258th appearance for the province.

O’Connor’s troops find themselves in a battle to make the play-off places but their league form doesn’t bode well, having won just one of their last five GUINNESS PRO12 fixtures.

And despite the myriad changes, prop Jack McGrath sees the game as an opportunity for the new faces to make their mark.

“If you’re selected, you have to put up your hand to be selected the following week,” he explained.

“Leadership is a massive thing when you’re going away to Rodney Parade. It’s a pretty tough place to go.

“They beat us earlier on in the season, so there will be a lot of guys who were playing there that will be involved this weekend that are still hurting from that.

“It was a 21 [game] winning streak gone. It is a bit of a cauldron over there. They’re pretty tough to beat.

“They’ve six losing bonus points. They’re always pretty tight to the teams whenever they do lose. It’s going to be a good one.”
