There’s no reason why Scarlets can’t keep the good times rolling, according to Aled Thomas, as his side look to continue their GUINNESS PRO12 unbeaten run at the expense of Munster’s own winning streak.

Wales internationals Ken Owens, Jake Ball and Samson Lee all return to a starting XV already benefitting from their new World Cup star in DTH van der Merwe, who scored two tries on debut last week.

Lewis Rawlins comes into the back row with Aaron Shingler unavailable due to concussion, while Rhodri Williams makes a return to the starting scrum-half berth in the only change to the backline.

Scarlets have not been defeated since Edinburgh visited Parc y Scarlets in March, with their eight successive victories to date continuing their best-ever winning run in the GUINNESS PRO12.

The last time the two sides met in Llanelli, Munster pulled off a last-gasp converted try to snatch a draw but fly-half Thomas believes Scarlets will not be slowed down this time.

“One of our main targets was to be in the top four by the time the World Cup finished, at the moment we're doing that. It's important to get points on the board when we can,” he said.

"There's a really positive feeling here at the moment, very upbeat and we're looking forward to the games ahead now.

"We've been doing the basics pretty well, competing for each other and helping each other out. We're working hard defensively and the attack has been going well as too.

"Leinster was tough but it was good to get a win. Munster got a big win on the weekend as well. We're looking forward to it this weekend – hopefully we'll get a good crowd here.

"There are exciting times and hopefully we can continue with this form."

Munster head coach Anthony Foley has rung the changes as eight new players come into the side following the win over Glasgow Warriors.

Following a try scoring performance last weekend, Jordan Coghlan makes his first GUINNESS PRO12 start for Foley's men at openside with Dave O'Callaghan and No.8 CJ Stander completing the back row. Stander will once again captain the side for this weekend's game.

A further five changes are seen across the backs. Cathal Sheridan and Tyler Bleyendaal come in at half-back while Denis Hurley makes his first start of the season in forming a new centre partnership alongside the academy's David Johnston.

The final change comes in the back-three with academy winger Stephen Fitzgerald starting on the right wing while Gerhard van den Heever and Andrew Conway remain in situ on the left wing and full-back respectively.

Table-topping Munster’s only defeat in their last 11 games in the competition came in the PRO12 final against Glasgow Warriors.

They’ve certainly been making amends since then and star signing Francis Saili, not involved in the matchday 23 this time around, is confident there is more to come.

"As soon as I signed, I had to get up to scratch with what was going on,” he said. “I did a bit of research before I came here. I saw the (GUINNESS PRO12) semi-final and finals back home (last season), when the Munster team was involved.

"It was good. I was getting excited then, and again when I jumped on that plane to come here.

"I am enjoying it here so far, but look, it is a scary thing for us because we are still building our game. Once we click our game together, it is going to be good."
