Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac is expecting a real test from Zebre at Parc y Scarlets in their GUINNESS PRO12 clash on Sunday. The Welsh side have lost just once in the league this season, but that came in their last GUINNESS PRO12 match, away at Leinster. Zebre meanwhile, have won three of their last five in all competitions, including a convincing win over Worcester in the Challenge Cup last weekend. And Pivac knows the set-piece battle will be vital if the Scarlets are to maintain their place in the top four. “Zebre have some personnel they didn't have last year and didn't play against us in the first game,” said Pivac. “They rely heavily on the set-piece and we have to make sure we're up to the task. “They're a lot stronger and have two wins under their belts against two sides that aren't too shabby. They've definitely improved and it's good for the competition.” The Scarlets have made ten changes to the team that lost to Racing 92 last time out, with Rob Evans, Emyr Phillips and Samson Lee forming a whole new front row. The back row is also completely overhauled, with John Barclay captaining the side at No.8 while James Davies packs down at openside. There is a new half-back pairing with Aled Davies and Aled Thomas combining while Regan King returns in midfield. Zebre have also made changes from the team that beat the Warriors, with Leonardo Sarto and Quintin Geldenhuys out injured. Dario Chistolini is also rested, but it’s still a strong team including half-back pairing Luke Burgess and Carlo Canna. George Biagi captains the side while young props Andrea Lovotti and Pietro Ceccarelli get starts for the Italian side. Team manager Andrea de Rossi explained that confidence is high in the squad, but admits that travelling to Llanelli is always a tough trip. “We’re taking on a team in great form and which has made their stadium a fortress in the PRO12,” he said. “We will run onto the pitch for a battle and with the clear objective of producing the necessary performance to help us grow. “The victory last week in the cup gave us a great confidence boost.” At Parc y Scarlets, 2.30pm.
