Cardiff ran in eight tries, including 36 points in 14 minutes, to keep both their Magners League hopes alive and consign Edinburgh to a massive defeat.

Three of the eight tries were scored by Rhys Williams during his first match since a hip injury in October. And man-of-the-match Andy Powell, who scored the first try, was also another successful injury returnee following his shoulder reconstruction.

It was one-way traffic at the Arms Park as injury-ravaged Edinburgh could only look on as the Blues scored regularly throughout the match.

Ben Blair grabbed two tries – including an 85-metre effort – with the other five pointers coming from Mike Phillips and Nick Macleod.

Blair and Macleod shared the kicking spoils with the former slotting three conversions and the stand-in fly-half one.
