Scarlets delivered a blow to Cardiff Blues Magners League title hopes as they stormed to a 38-10 victory at Stradey Park.

The Scarlets came out confident in the sunny conditions and Jones put some points on the board with an early penalty.

Barry Davies gave his side the inspiration to take control of the game after an 80-yard interception and sprint to the line. Further tries from Davies and Matthew Watkins sealed the game for the Scarlets.

The Blues took advantage of a Scarlets error when Scott MacLeod was shown yellow, Xavier Rush stretched over the line for Cardiff Blues only try of the game.

In the dying minutes of the game Scarlets secured a bonus point win with Davies and Watkins each scoring their second tries.
