Glasgow’s Jekyll and Hyde act in the RaboDirect PRO12 continued as they stormed to an impressive bonus point win away to the Cardiff Blues.

Colin Gregor, James Eddie, Tommy Seymour and Stuart Hogg all crossed for the Warriors as they recorded a comfortable 34-13 win, their first on Welsh soil in over a year.

Prior to the clash Glasgow’s sole victory of the season had come against European champions Leinster in round three before they suffered a crushing home loss against Treviso last time out.

But there was no sign of that inconsistency at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday night as they condemned the Blues to their third successive defeat.

Sean Lineen made nine changes to the team that suffered that inglorious defeat at home to Treviso and they came storming out the blocks.

Inside a quarter of an hour they were ahead when Hogg broke clear and fed Gregor to touch down virtually unopposed, Duncan Weir adding the extras.

But the Blues responded soon after with a Ceri Sweeney penalty on 17 minutes and then six minutes later Casey Laulala crossed for the Welsh side’s first score to put them 8-7 ahead.

But back came the Warriors as Eddie dived over on the half-hour mark after being cleverly fed by Johnnie Beattie, Weir again adding the conversion and then a penalty on the stroke of half-time to make it 17-8 at the break.

After the interval Sweeney missed a chance to reduce the Blues’ arrears with a penalty before Seymour broke clear on an interception to make it 24-7.

The Blues then began to turn the screw in search of a score that would bring them back into the game and it eventually arrived on the hour mark when Mike Paterson touched down after Hogg’s clearing kick was charged down.

With the score evenly poised at 13-24 the next score was always going to be crucial and Weir settled the Warriors nerves with a penalty with ten minutes to go.

Hogg then crossed in the dying seconds to add a touch of gloss to the scoreline with Gregor this time converting to seal only Glasgow’s second win of the season.
