Leinster’s Magners League campaign ended in disappointment in Edinburgh with the Gunners sending the Irish side to defeat thanks to a fine performance from flanker Ally Hogg. The Scottish test back row man snapped up one try and sent Duncan Hodge on his way for another as the Scots finally secured the win in a see-saw encounter. Felipe Contepomi and Chris Paterson had traded penalties early on but the Argentinean took the advantage as Leinster led 12-9 at the break. However after Paterson had again squared things up early in the second period the Gunners began to take control with Hogg getting over. Hogg had seemed set for his second when he carved through the defence before popping to Hodge who crossed to open a 14 point lead.Leinster mounted a late series of raids in a bid to salvage at least a consolation bonus point and prop Ronan McCormack squeezed over a minute from time.
