Munster remain in the running to finish in the top four in the Magners League as they ended Edinburgh’s hopes of being Scotland’s top finishers. Edinburgh didn’t get off to the best of starts when Munster were awarded seven points from a penalty try but keeping positive they fought back thanks to Phil Godman’s two penalties in quick succession. Ronan O’Gara keep the momentum up for Munster by firing over two penalties to keep some breathing space for his team mates. Both Godman and O’Gara completed their penalty trebles before the interval. Any ideas that Edinburgh had about a comeback were wiped out when Paul O’Connell crossed the line and O’Gara followed suit with his conversion. Alan Quinlan and Denis Fogarty also crossed the line to increase the winning margin for Munster.
