James Hook was the Ospreys’ star as they ran riot against local rivals Llanelli Scarlets. Hook was the darling of the capacity Liberty Stadium crowd, scoring 23 points. Ospreys’ five-tries-to-three win also provided them with a valuable bonus point and inflicted Scarlets’ worst Celtic League defeat. Ryan Jones pointed the way to victory by scoring the first home try within 10 minutes. But this and two Hook penalties were answered by a Scarlets penalty try. Hook’s three further penalties steadied the ship and Nikki Walker, Stradey old boy Lee Byrne, Lyndon Bateman and Andy Lloyd’s tries sealed victory. Dwayne Peel and Gavin Evans grabbed consolation tries for the Scarlets.
