Trailing 15-0 at the restart Border Reivers might have hoped for a comeback but this was short lived as they lost full-back Calum MacRae for a high tackle and were reduced to 14 men. Using this advantage Newport Gwent Dragons scored three tries in just seven minutes and put the game out of reach for the Borders. Not out of breath yet, Newport Gwent Dragons managed to score two more tries in injury time to finish 48-0.
