14 points from Cerion Thomas helped the Scarlets secure fourth place in the Magners League against Connacht at Stradey Park Thomas notched two second half tries to take the home side away from Connacht who had opened the scoring through a Mark McHugh penalty. The score remained at 3-0 for the rest of the half and it was not until Thomas got his first touchdown that the Scarlets took the lead.Then, five minutes later Thomas crossed again to but the home side in the box seat. With seven minutes remaining centre Gavin Evans claimed the Scarlets third after good work from replacement full-back Daniel Evans, on his regional debut.Connacht did manage a late try through flanker John Muldoon, converted by McHugh, but it had little effect on the outcome of the match.
