The big news on Wednesday morning is that Pierre Schoeman has signed a new deal at Edinburgh. The former Bulls prop has taken the Guinness PRO14 by storm since his arrival, and inked new terms with Richard Cockerill’s side this past week. And the South African admits it was an ‘easy decision’ to sign up for more in the Scottish capital. The other piece of good news for Edinburgh this weekend is that Darcy Graham is back in action in the Challenge Cup. The winger, one of Scotland’s stars at the World Cup, has not appeared since Japan but his return for the Wasps double header is very timely indeed. Glasgow Warriors have an important four weeks ahead that could come to define their season. And coach John Dalziel admits his side know that the European double header against La Rochelle and the Christmas 1872 Cup clashes are ‘huge’. Last time out, JJ Hanrahan missed a late drop goal that would have won them the game against Racing 92. But the fly-half is unbowed, and insists he will rise to the occasion should it present itself again this weekend. Hanrahan will start because Tyler Bleyendaal has suffered yet another injury setback with his neck. And Johann van Graan admits the Kiwi fly-half’s fitness struggles are becoming a ‘worry’. Sticking with Munster No.10’s and Conor Fitzgerald admits he has no regrets over leaving Limerick for Connacht after a breakout season in Galway. Meanwhile over in Leinster, Jordan Larmour’s rise continues apace. The young gun has played every European game for the boys in blue stretching all the way back to the final against Racing 92 in Bilbao. Does his future lie at full-back or wing? The young man doesn’t know, but he loves learning from Rob Kearney. Over in Wales, Filo Paulo is back at the Cardiff Blues and ready to let rip.
