**Benetton got off the mark in the EPCR Challenge Cup with a 23-9 victory over fellow United Rugby Championship side the Dragons on Saturday.** Having been beaten by Gloucester in their competition opener at Kingsholm, Benetton pulled clear of their Welsh visitors in the second half in Treviso to put a first Pool B win on the board. Sam Davies opened the scoring for the Dragons from the tee, but Benetton went ahead for the first time in the 14th minute when Irne Herbst burrowed for the line and touched down at full stretch. A Rhyno Smith penalty – coming on the back of a pair of earlier misses - made it 8-3 to the home side, but two further three-pointers from Davies’ boot saw the Dragons hold a narrow lead at half-time.
