Jonathan Davies’ glittering career CV added another accolade on Saturday morning after the Scarlets centre was voted as champion of the Guinness PRO14’s Clone Cup.

Fans have been voting all week to decide which player could best cover all XV positions as a one-man team and two-time British & Irish Lion Davies emerged on top.

The 31-year-old beat out Bill Mata by the narrowest of margins in the final, emerging on top in a 51%-49% poll.

Mata – the Fijian No.8 who was voted Guinness PRO14 players’ player of the year last season, was a hot favourite coming into the Cup.

But after more than 4,000 votes were cast throughout the week, it was Davies who emerged as your best all-rounder in the league, beating out the likes of Iliesa Ratuva Tavuyara and Stuart McCloskey en route to the final.
