Jonny Gray is an imposing figure on the field. Standing at 6’6 and weighing almost 120kg. it’s going to be hard to miss him as he controls the engine room of the Glasgow Warriors.

And so when tasked with facing the reigning champions at their home ground and with a formidable attack, it was very much the setting to showcase the superhuman capabilities of Gray. And that he did!**

On a Saturday afternoon that ended in victory for the away team, an enviable task at the RDS, Gray stood head and shoulders over the rest and amassed the downright ridiculous number of 43 tackles. More impressively, he didn’t miss a single one. With energy like that, it is no wonder he and his team mates found the drive to run out 24 – 39 winners against Leinster and for Gray to quite rightly pick up the Man of the Match award.

Out of his 11 appearances in Glasgow colour this past season, Jonny racked up 208 tackles. How many did he miss? 2! That makes for an incredibly impressive 99% tackle completion average.
