Munster and Leinster are set for huge European challenges this weekend as they bid to set up an all-Irish Champions Cup final in Newcastle next month.

Munster travel to Coventry to take on two-time champions Saracens at the Ricoh Arena, 11 years after beating the English side on the same ground at this stage of the competition.

Then on Sunday it is Leinster’s turn to face fellow four-time champions Toulouse, the third meeting of the sides after splitting the two group games.

The action begins on Saturday where Munster will be looking to continue their fine recent form away to the English champions.

Two years ago Sarries got the better of Munster in Dublin, so Johann van Graan’s side will be looking for revenge.

They will be without two key backs, Joey Carbery and Keith Earls both unavailable, meaning that Tyler Bleyendaal and Darren Sweetnam get the nod at fly-half and on the wing, respectively.

Elsewhere Peter O’Mahony will captain the side and is set to make his 50th European appearance for the province, starting in the back row alongside Jack O’Donoghue and CJ Stander.

Munster come into the game in great form, having lost just one of their last 12 games in all competitions, and with a Guinness PRO14 Final Series place already wrapped up, they now have the chance to book a place in a first European final since 2008.

Europe’s two most successful sides face off at the Aviva Stadium with Leinster looking to continue their bid for a fifth Champions Cup title at home to Toulouse.

The French side won a thrilling first meeting between the sides back in October, but Leinster got their revenge with a bonus-point victory in the return fixture.

That saw them top the pool, and means they host this clash after coming through a tough quarter-final at home to Ulster.

Toulouse, for their part, saw off Racing 92 in Paris in the last eight, despite playing an hour with 14 men.

Leinster have Johnny Sexton back for the first time since the Guinness Six Nations, and he will captain a side featuring 14 Ireland internationals and winger James Lowe.

Toulouse have gone for an unfamiliar half-back pairing with Antoine Dupont, usually employed as a scrum-half, wearing the No.10 jersey.

Former Connacht centre Pita Ahki starts at inside centre, while Jerome Kaino will captain the team from No.8.
