1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the United Rugby Championship (URC) Media Centre (βthe Media Centreβ), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (βTermsβ). If you do not agree with these Terms, do not access or use the Media Centre. The URC reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Media Centre following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Access to the Media Centre
Access to the Media Centre is granted on a request-only basis and requires prior approval by the URC. The URC reserves the right to approve, deny, or revoke access at its sole discretion without prior notice or explanation.Β Notwithstanding any of these Terms, the URC reserves the right, without notice and in its sole discretion, to terminate your account and/or to block your use of the Media Centre.
3. Eligibility for Access
Access is only available to professionals such as media teams, journalists, clubs, broadcasters, and others specifically approved by the URC. You must be at least 18 years of age to request access.
4. Permitted Use
The Media Centre is for professional use only, facilitating research, reporting, and content creation related to the United Rugby Championship.
By accessing the Media Centre, you agree that you will:
β Use the Media Centre and its content solely for lawful purposes in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
β Not share your access credentials with any unauthorised individuals.
β Not attempt to bypass any security features of the Media Centre.
β Not use the content provided for commercial purposes without written permission from the URC.
β Not use the content provided in a manner that tarnishes, defames or causes damage to the reputation, credibility or mis-portrays the good standing of the United Rugby Championship, its teams, players, match officials, staff and personnel (this list is not exhaustive).
β Use the Media Centre in a manner consistent with the professional standards expected in journalism, broadcasting, and research.
5. Content Accuracy and Updates
While the URC strives to ensure that all information within the Media Centre is accurate and current, the URC makes no express or implied warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information provided.
The information contained within the Media Centre is provided for general informational purposes only, and you agree that:
β The URC assumes no liability for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the information provided.
β The URC is not responsible for any decisions or actions taken based on the content, nor does it provide any guarantees of the outcomes resulting from the use of the information.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, materials, and data available in the Media Centre, including but not limited to text, images, video, and audio files, are the intellectual property of the URC or its licensors unless otherwise indicated. You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to access and use the content strictly for the purposes outlined in these Terms.
You may not:
β Reproduce, distribute, or modify the content without explicit written permission from the URC or the respective rights holders.
β Use any URC trademarks, logos, or branding beyond fair usage without express prior consent.
β Use any team trademarks or player likenesses beyond fair usage without express prior consent
7. User-Generated Content
If you contribute or submit any content to the Media Centre, you grant the URC a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, modify, reproduce, and distribute such content in connection with the Media Centreβs operation. You represent that you own or have obtained all necessary rights and permissions for the submission and use of the content, and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
8. Third-Party Links
The Media Centre may include links to third-party websites or services for your convenience. These third-party sites are not under the control of the URC, and the URC is not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. The inclusion of any third-party link does not imply endorsement by the URC.
9. Data Protection and Privacy
The URC complies with all applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK), and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) as applicable in Ireland. By using the Media Centre, you agree that the URC may collect, store, and use personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which outlines how personal data is handled, your rights as a data subject, and how to exercise those rights.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the URC, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with:
β Your use of or inability to use the Media Centre;
β Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the content provided;
β Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or transmissions;
β Any other matter related to your use of the Media Centre.
This limitation of liability applies regardless of the form of action, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if the URC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law in the UK or Ireland.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the URC, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and contractors from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Media Centre, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any rights of another person or entity.
12. Termination of Access
The URC reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Media Centre at any time, without notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms. Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the Media Centre and destroy any copies of the content obtained through it.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, or Ireland where applicable. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, or the courts of Ireland, depending on where the dispute arises.
